Blaze’s Cause Candle Initiative
On March 29, 2020, Cecilia was born with congenital heart disease. Congenital heart disease is the most common disability at birth in the United States and worldwide with nearly 40,000 babies expected to be born with CHD in the U.S. this year. On November 16, 2020, Cece took her final breath after numerous surgeries in her 8-month fight against CHD.
This became the beginning of Blaze’s Cause Candle initiative, starting with this Heart Warrior candle.
Ryan Shreve has been friends with Cece’s mom Kristen, and had followed Cece’s story from her birth in March 2020 until she passed in November 2020. Though Ryan started Blaze three years ago, he felt as if something was missing. He wanted to do more, to change the world. And after seeing what his friend and her daughter had been going through, he knew this was where he needed to start.
Blaze’s Cause Candle initiative’s first candle was meant to create something tangible that people could purchase to remember Cece and other Heart Warriors. Scent has the ability to trigger some of our most vivid memories and even better, the ability to engrave new memories. In doing this, their hope is that anytime somebody smells a similar scent, they will remember the importance of fighting for Heart Warriors.
“We knew this had to be big and not just another fundraising effort, so I leveraged my marketing skills and worked with video producers, record labels for song licensing, and photographers to create a campaign that would say ‘Yes, this is incredibly sad, but it is real, and we can’t ignore it’. In celebration of Cece’s fight, Blaze Candle & Wax is helping to fight back against CHD for Cece and the nearly 2.4 million other children and adults impacted every day.
Last month, they kicked off this partnership in a big way with their special edition “Heart Warrior” candle that sold out in just two days!
We are happy to announce that preorders for the Heart Warrior candle will back up open April 1st and be available through April 23rd and shipped out early May.
100% of the proceeds from this candle will be donated to Conquering CHD. We at Conquering CHD are honored to be a part of such a noble mission and preserving Cece’s memory.
This specialty fragrance is a beautiful blend of ozone and green leaves giving way to a heart of rose, carnation, lily of the valley, and ylang ylang. The added softness of baby powder and peppercorn perfectly add a bit more uniqueness to the simple beauty of this classic scent.
