Collaboration of Hope
Two dedicated organizations, one goal.
This Heart Month, Conquering CHD and The Brett Boyer Foundation are working together to make an even bigger impact than usual, by raising voices and spreading hope for CHD patients and families across the country. Throughout February, both organizations will share inspiring stories, celebrating the congenital heart and Down syndrome communities.
Supporters may connect with the campaign on social media, @conqueringchd and @brightforbrett, and let their #CHDVoice be Hope for Tomorrow.
About Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) – CHD is the most common birth defect and a leading cause of infant death. In 2021, 40,000 babies will be born with CHD in the United States alone, joining the 1.35 million new patients born this year around the world. 1 in 100 people worldwide are diagnosed with CHD.
Thanks to advances in medical technology and surgical procedures, more adults than children are now living with congenital heart disease. CHD is a chronic, lifelong condition that presents significant challenges for the patient and their family. CHD has no cure.
About The Brett Boyer Foundation – The Brett Boyer Foundation was created by Ellen and Bo Boyer in loving memory and in honor of their beloved daughter Brett. Brett was diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect (CHD) and battled this heart disease for her 7 inspiring and incredible months of life.
Their mission is to raise awareness for Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and fund research to advance treatment options. It is also our mission to spread the love and awareness that Brett filled her family with for the wonderful, capable people living with Down syndrome. About Conquering CHD – Conquering CHD exists to conquer the most common birth defect. We engage, listen, learn, and act. We create visibility and empower all impacted by congenital heart disease, accomplishing this through awareness, knowledge, community, and research. Visit our website at www.conqueringchd.org.
