At Conquering CHD - New England, we exist to conquer the most common birth defect. We engage, listen, learn, and act. We create visibility and empower all impacted by CHD. We accomplish this through awareness, knowledge, community, and research.
Our chapter is currently serving families in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
*This chapter has received the Honor Roll Award for outstanding performance in support of our mission in 2020.
About Us
- Conquering CHD Kits offering critical information and a personal connection for patients with CHD of all ages through individualized care packages.
- Online chat networks bringing people with similar experiences together.
- In-person peer support offering patients and families encouragement and insight from someone who has walked a similar path.

Give
One important program we have in the New England area is our Conquering CHD Care Kits. When away at the hospital for a procedure, families tend to have nothing but the basics: wallet/purse and phone. Our hospital kits are sent directly to the families providing resources and support items to help bring comfort to the patient and their family during long term stays.
Some of the items we include in these care kits are:
- Coloring books and 8-packs of crayons
- Activity books and decks of cards
- Travel-sized toiletries especially lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant
- Books for all ages
- Single-serve snacks (granola bars, crackers, etc.)
- Gum or mints
